BlaqueStone is a renowned American married couple and live music group. By infusing soul with the lyricism and the groove locks of hip-hop, mixed with a hint of jazz, sprinkled with on the spot improv and the adding essence of funk with their known for the presentation of the talk box and Key-tar; this unit is the definition of true artistry.
The couple consists of rapper/singer/songwriter and producer Nyne (Marcus). The other half is singer/lyricist/songwriter Cortney, known as Queen. The band consists of Keyboarder Deon Moon, Drummer Brendan Mills, and Bass Player Deshawn Davis.
BlaqueStone has received recent positive reviews from Essence Magazine, Blavity, AfroPunk, TeamBack Back, etc. When they aren’t curating their own events, they have performed at places like NPR, 2018 AFRAM Music Festival (headliner Ella Mai ), NYC, The National Mall, and has even opened up for U.K Artist Ray Blk.
The couple received an Individual Artist of the year award from the State of Maryland and has recently had their hit single 11:59 in Netflix Original Movie “DUDE” starring Lucy Hale. They were able to speak about outreach with Revolt TV a few years back as well. The group itself does work with the youth with their very own state traveling workshop called “Creative Therapy”. It focuses on using live music, hip hop, and open mic style presentations to get youth to have fun while positively expressing themselves.
